Senior Lecturer

A Doctoral degree in Information Technology (or related discipline), with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.

Evidence of a research track record, in line with the level of the post, must include articles published in accredited journals and subject-specific accredited conference proceedings.

A track record of successful postgraduate student supervision.

Substantial relevant experience in which competency has been gained in line with the relevant post.

nGAP Lecturer: Art Entrepreneurship • Show interest in becoming an academic with permanent placement

• Be 40 years or younger

• Prospective candidates should have a master’s degree

Post-specific requirements for Lecturer in Visual Arts and Entrepreneurship (Theory):

• Applicable and relevant qualification equivalent to NQF level 9 (e.g. master’s degree) in Art History, Art Theory, Visual Studies or related field (SAQA evaluation of foreign qualifications must accompany the application)

• Intention to register or be registered for a doctoral degree

• At least 1 year teaching experience

• 2 research output units during the previous 5 years OR 1 research output unit* during the previous 3 years OR rated by NRF as a researcher (academics) – note that the output criteria will be waived if a master’s degree was obtained within the last 2 years.

nGAP Lecturer: Architectural Technology and Interior Design
  • A Masters Degree in Architecture M.Arch or a Masters in Technology M.Tech with a related Thesis research topic around the Design of a Technologically driven building or are repository of Digital knowledge systems;
  • Should have graduated from the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) accredited institution.
  • Meet the requirement of the nGAP programme with an average of at least 70% for their Masters degree.
  • Demonstrable the ability to become a successful academic.
  • nGAP appointees must be South African citizens or permanent residents in South Africa.
